Current Special Exhibition: The Stage for New Era: Modern Drama Movements in Taiwan under Japanese Rule

Exhibition Description: Influenced by Western thoughts and modern sociocultural influences, a group of social-minded intellectuals had begun their experiments on the “Modern Drama”. However, subject to immature environments and interference from Japanese colonial authorities, Modern Drama had not grown into a full-fledged condition in Taiwan. We reproduce the circumstances of “Cultural Drama” with a multi-channel situation theater and an audio-drama device. We also set up a multi-dimensioning experiential display with a live action game ”Traveling a New Drama Life ” and a scene reappearance of the New Drama “Castrated Chicken”, in order to invite the audience to immerse into the idealistic and romantic New Drama Movements in Taiwan under Japanese rule.
